This work focuses on the study of the national models of cultural diplomacy in three countries and their comparative analysis in the context of Joseph Nyes concept of "soft power." The object of the study is cultural diplomacy as a tool of "soft power" in contemporary global politics. The subject of the study is the national models of cultural diplomacy in China, Japan, and South Korea, as well as their institutionalization. The goal of the work is to conduct a comparative analysis of the three models of cultural diplomacy, identify their similarities, differences, and limitations. The methodology includes comparative, systemic, and historical methods, as well as the use of official documents and case studies. The results of the study reveal the hybrid nature of all three models. It is established that there is no direct conversion of cultural capital into political influence, but long-term effects persist. Joseph Nyes concept of "soft power" is not refuted, but rather refined in the context of East Asian countries. The findings can be used in international relations courses and as a basis for further comparative studies on cultural diplomacy. The conclusions indicate that cultural attractiveness in East Asian countries is not directly converted into political influence, but rather indirectly. The direct impact of cultural diplomacy on short-term political decisions is limited.
