A coupled electro-thermal finite element modelling framework was developed in COMSOL Multiphysics 6.2 using the Magnetic Fields, Heat Transfer in Solids, and Electromagnetic Heating physics interfaces. The study evaluated both buried duct installation and exposed free-air installation under normal current-sharing and emergency single-circuit operating conditions. The exposed installation was further investigated under direct solar exposure and roof-protected conditions in order to evaluate the influence of environmental thermal loading on cable ampacity.
