Object of study is to design a metamaterials-based patch antenna with 28 GHz center frequency for sixth-generation communication system. The aim is to get a high gain and high direction of the metamaterials-based patch antenna. The following tasks were solved: Calculation and simulation of a regular patch antenna Calculation and simulation of a metamaterial-based patch antenna Comparative analysis of simulation results and literature overview. As a result of the study, the design of a metamaterials-based patch antenna for sixth-generation communication system is presented in this research. The Rogers RO5880 substrate material, which has a dielectric constant (εr) of 2.2 and a thickness of 0.85 mm, is utilized in the antenna designed to operate at 28 GHz. As a result of the study, a beam gain of 9.6 dBi, directivity of 10.2 dBi, radiation efficiency of 91.4%, and bandwidth of 1.819 GHz are all displayed in the simulated findings. The suggested antenna is done using the CST simulator. It has much greater beam gain, direction, and radiation efficiency in contrast to other comparable designs documented in the literature. As a result, the suggested antenna is possible candidate antenna type for 6G communication system.
