Mathematical modeling of ice resistance of ships is constantly in development. The variety of ice conditions does not allow creating a universal model of ice resistance. The standard movement of an icebreaker in solid ice is discussed in the work. Empirical, theoretical and semi-empirical methods for calculating ice resistance have been developed for these conditions. The semi-empirical method of calculating ice resistance when moving in a solid ice is the most complete and takes into account the thickness, physical and mechanical characteristics of the ice cover, the shape of the hull, the main dimensions and the speed of the ship. Full-scale experimental data are available in small quantities. They have incomplete information about the physical and mechanical characteristics of the ice cover. Methods of physical modeling of resistance of ice navigation ships in experimental basins received significant development. They make it possible to measure the parameters of the ice environment in more detail. Therefore, semi-empirical models tuned to the data of model experiments are relevant. The reconstruction of a semi-empirical model of resistance during the interaction of ships with solid ice for the purpose of adjustment based on model experimental data is shown in the work. The obtained dependencies are recommended for recalculation of the resistance from the model to the full-scale ship.
