The aim of the research is creation of the framework for development of students’ social-communication skills by means of the discipline “foreign language”. The research set the following goals: 1. analyze the content of communicative competence; 2. analyze characteristics of the category “soft skills” in the modern paradigm of pedagogy; 3. define the structural components of communication and collaboration skills; 4. identify the strategies for development of students’ social-communication skills in the context of foreign language teaching at university; 5. develop the framework for development of social-communication skills in the context of foreign language learning at university; 6. implement the developed framework into teaching practice. The relevance of the problem is due to the fact that social-communication skills determine people’s success at work, help us to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in the society and find common ground with other people. Moreover, these skills are included in the FSES (3++); thus, these skills are equally important for our daily and professional lives. The data for the research were collected from domestic and foreign scientific literature, official Internet-resources and analytical agencies. The study resulted in creating the framework of students’ social-communication skills in the context of foreign language learning at university.
