The aim of the research is to create and implement an effective system of exercises for teaching polylogue communication skills using interactive techniques among students of non-language faculties. The research set the following goals: 1. Study the theoretical material underlying the training of polylogue using interactive techniques; 2. Develop a system of exercises for teaching polylogue communication using interactive techniques, taking into account the specifics of training students from non-language faculties 3. Develop a set of criteria for the students’ performance assessment; 4. Test the developed system of exercises during practical lessons; 5. Analyze the effectiveness of the implemented program based on the students’ assessments results and their feedback. The developed set of exercises was implemented and tested during practical EFL classes for undergraduate students following the educational program 38.03.06 “Trade business” in the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in October and November 2023. The results of the conducted experiment showed an improvement in all developed criteria for assessing skills of polylogue speech. Students from the experimental group demonstrated increased interest in the developed set of exercises, which influenced an increase in motivation and engagement during English language classes.
